ELMAX System
Extended life ready-mixed mortar ELMAX System is a combination of cementitious materials, aggregate and water and chemical admixtures, designed to improve the properties of fresh and hardened mortar while stabilizing setting time according to specific project requirements. The system is composed by a retarding admixture, a water retention admixture and an air entrained.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
ELMAX System was formulated to produce stabilized mortar and is not mixed on the jobsite. Mortar with ELMAX arrives on the site in a ready-mix truck, just like the ready-mix concrete. Mortar with ELMAX can stay workable 12, 24, 36 or more hours, depending on the requirements of the project. According to ASTM C270, conventional mortars have to be used before 2.5 hours. Longer time, will mean cost reduction and profit increase, since in such a short time only limited quantities can be consumed. The duration of the stabilized mortar is regulated changing the dosage of the admixtures Stabilized mortar is storaged in plastic stage for a specific period or time. The in-use and the end of the day returned to the container because it could initiate the mortar’s setting, the mortar can be retempered without changing its properties. When the mortar is placed, the water and admixtures are absorbed, with which the mortar recovers the setting properties of a mortar produced in site.
